Breehy-hinny-brinny-hoohy-hah
This may not be my all-time favorite C.S. Lewis quote, but it’s definitely toward the top:
“Breehy-hinny-brinny-hoohy-hah.”
—C.S. Lewis
Or, if you must have fuller context:
“‘Breehy-hinny-brinny-hoohy-hah,’ said the Horse.”
—C.S. Lewis, The Horse and His Boy1
Why is this my favorite C.S. Lewis quote, or one of them? Because it delights me, is all. Puts a smile on my face. I will not explain further.
“It needs to be on a t-shirt,” I said — so I threw together a design. “It needs to be on stickers, too,” I said. So I put it on Redbubble, where you can now buy stickers, t-shirts, mugs, and all sorts of fun things.
Find my shop at breehy-hinny-brinny-hoohy-hah.com, and I’m not even joking.
I mean, I am having fun, and it’s definitely a joke — but I’m also not joking: that’s the real URL. You’re welcome.
Every single penny of the proceeds will go toward my beer money. And, just in case giving me money for beer bothers you, here’s another of my favorite quotes from Saint Clive:
“Another things that annoys me is when people say, ‘Why did you give that man money? He’ll probably go and drink it.’ My reply is, ‘But if I kept it, I should have probably drunk it.’”
—C.S. Lewis

Okay, fine, here’s still more context from The Horse and His Boy:
“[Shasta said,] ‘I don’t know your name.’
‘Breehy-hinny-brinny-hoohy-hah,’ said the Horse.
‘I’ll never be able to say that,’ said Shasta. ‘Can I call you Bree?’
‘Well, if it’s the best you can do, I suppose you must,’ said the Horse.”

This article made me smile, so thanks for passing it on!
